Damn its good to be me
Greetings
Man its good to be me. Feeling positive... just spent the last 3 hours digging thru rocks and sand. "Why?" you might ask easy: cause yesterday Shaun= stupid. I landed up turfing away a box full of rock samples that were marked incorrectly but are needed for economic geology. Anyway the prof that runs that course came down on me like a bag of bricks (as a geologist I would prefer granite or a large piece of quartz) so been trying to get back all the samples that I tossed onto a pile of rocks and sand that could be classed as a outcrop. I think it would have been easier trying to find Livingstone that all those #*&^ing samples but on the bright side its weekend!!! Wooohoooo. Plans for the weekend? None.
Compared to yesterday the temp has now dropped to below zero... ok ok it’s like 5-8 degrees lower but damn that made all the difference. I did however find this:
National Warning - Issued on Friday, 26 January 2007 at 16.00
Dangerously high levels of discomfort are expected in the Lowveld areas of Limpopo and Mpumalanga Provinces.
Ha and you all laughed at us yesterday!!!! Take that you bastards!!! Oh yes to clear up a few things I grew up in the Lowveld (it’s near the Kruger Park) in a quaint town of White River.
And in other news my Application for Readmission (for those that don’t know... here in Stellenbosch we have the credit system, each year we have to acquire X amount of credits normally this is 133 however on odd numbered years of your coarse if you do not have the correct amount of credits you get turfed from the uni. in 1st year I think you have to have 50% of the 133 but in 3rd year you have to have 75% of the total credits. Now because I changed my course in my 2nd year I don’t have enough credits so I had to reapply) ok back to the news.... my Application for Readmission was..... *sigh* posted to me... in white river (26 hours away) but I was reaccepted hehe :D Going to register on Monday. The only problem I have now is that two of my exams clash, Maths and soil science both on the 28/5 at 09:00 in the morning, so I’ve got to go sort that out but the soil science lecturer (all lecturers in that dept by the look of it) is only back on Monday from a conference somewhere so have to wait about that.
might play Magic this weekend but not sure have to speak to my sponsor ( a friend of mine that pays for me to enter into the turnament but gets my cards at the end of the tournament, I keep anything I win) but I’m really quite bad at magic. Will see how that goes.
Got an email from the ex (yeah you remember her,) well she is on campus because she is doing her "honours" part of her 4 year engineering coarse; I’m not sure about the rest of the world but I find engineers to be the most stuck up arrogant people in the world, there are a few exceptions Evan, Carlu and Curl (nickname Carl is his real name) to name a few; she wants to have lunch with me next week. My reply was: i'll get back to you. Havent had any reply to that.
i spotted a few nice ladies wondering around campus, its easy to spot them but getting to date them is another story. Its like trying to explain to a normal person the geologists meaning of "just the other day" which happens to be within the last half million years. The typical use would be: "The Karoo happend just the other day". Or a similar term that the aussies dont get: "just now" i.e. "I'll get my shoes just now. "
thats enough for today...
Website: Centre for Computational Intelligence humor section... wierd stuff there.
